Adjudicated hundreds of murder references, criminal appeals, civil matters, company cases/ commercial cases/ and trademark cases acquiring a reputation of having versatile skills.

Adjudicated National Accountability Cases against politicians and bureaucrats

through bold and erudite decisions. Reported in the National Law Journals.

Made contributions through case law in areas covered by Islamic

Jurisprudence. This included reported blasphemy cases.

Augmented the existing jurisprudence through case law, (Many cases

Reported between 1999-2006 in the Law Journals).

The “ratio decidendi” of judgments given in constitutional matters aimed at structuring the discretionary powers of the Government, observance of

transparency in government working and reduction of credibility gap between

the Government and the citizens, have been well appreciated and followed.

In human right matters, always took extraordinary measures in getting quick

relief to the victims, irrespective of complications. The national dailies

including the daily “DAWN” had been commenting on the decisions with

praise. Leading Papers had been publishing my articles on law and Constitution.

Previously served as:

District and Sessions Judge in different important districts of Pakistan between 1977 -1999 including holding the position of the Federal District Judge of the Capital, Islamabad. Having original jurisdiction in murder cases and civil matters. In this capacity, tried hundreds of murder cases and cases of heinous crimes besides civil matters.

Secretary, to the Government of the Punjab, Law and Parliamentary Affairs. The work inter alia involved advising Govt. on legal issues, making laws, supervising government litigations and looking after the parliamentary affairs and human rights issues.

Chairman, Punjab Service Tribunal, Lahore, Pakistan. Work involved hearing

of appeals of Civil Servants pertaining to terms and conditions of their

service.

Joint Secretary/D.G. Federal Ombudsman Secretariat, Islamabad, Pakistan.

Tried over 3,000 cases involving “mal-administration” of civil servants

including violation of human rights and suggested curative measures to the Federal Government.

Fazal Elahi Chaudhry Former President of Pakistan

born on January 1, 1904 in an influential  Gujjar family in Marala village, near the city of  Kharian , Gujrat District  in  Punjab Province . After receiving his education from there, Chaudhry joined the prestigious  Aligarh Muslim University  in 1920, receiving his  LLB  in  Civil law  in 1924. Thereafter, Chaudhry returned to  Punjab  and attended the Punjab University 's post-graduate school in law and political science.
